Elena Popova is a PhD student in the scientific specialty “Book Knowledge, Library Science, Bibliography” in the professional field 3.5. “Public Communications and Information Sciences” from 2018

She has a bachelor’s degree in Book Publishing at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in 2016 and Master’s degree in Library, Information and Cultural Management at ULSIT in 2018.

Her research interests are in the field of: digital libraries; the library institution in the context of the modern world; European and global policies to adapt libraries to the needs of the 21st century; copyright and intellectual property protection. She prepares a dissertation entitled “Libraries and the future information ecosystem”, under the guidance of Prof. DSc. Tanya Todorova.

She has published a paper on “Comparative analysis of projects in support of the digitalization of cultural heritage in Bulgaria” in the collection, published in 2019 in the context of the XVII National Scientific Conference with international participation “Knowledge Society and 21st Century Humanism”.

Elena Popova participates in a project entitled “Information portal for mobile learning and mobile access to library services and resources”, Contract № KP-06-M35/2 from 18.12.2019, headed by Ch. Assist. Elisaveta Tsvetkova, PhD and funded by the Competition for funding basic research of young scientists and postdoctoral fellows – 2019 of the National Science Fund.
